The National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer of New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Nigeria, Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu has decried the poor state of NEPAD office and the condition in which staff work in.  

Princess Akobundu stated this during the visit of the Senate Committee on Integration and Cooperation in Africa and NEPAD to NEPAD office for oversight functions.
She disclosed her vision for NEPAD which she hopes to achieve through the “New Approach” as captured in the 4-R Agenda of Rebranding, Rebuilding, Reworking and Repositioning NEPAD Nigeria for better performance.
She appealed to the senators to use their good offices to see to the increase in NEPAD Budget releases and allocations adding that this will enable her achieve the  4-R Agenda.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa/NEPAD, Senator Abubakar Danladi in his response said that Nigerians have high expectations from NEPAD and promised that the committee will look into the challenges facing the Agency. Sen. Danladi said that the committee believes in the ability of the NC/CEO.  He  added that the Committee is ready to partner with her to see that NEPAD programmes are implemented in order to achieve NEPAD mandate.
