What is the Project all about?

The NEPAD ICT Re-launch Initiative evolved from the need to move NEPAD Nigeria forward by overhauling the website, upgrading the IT infrastructures (Soft and Hard) and Data Base upgrading/updating to enhance service delivery at all levels and facilitate programmes implementation. This initiative, is one of the giant stride of the Special Adviser to the President on NEPAD.

Aims and Objectives

The main objective of the NEPAD ICT Initiative is to provide the Office and other Stakeholders with appropriate, timely and up to date information that could be used to track the pace of development in Nigeria.

What is happening in the programme?

TThe project has been designed, conceptualized and mainstreamed. A work plan for the implementation of the project was drawn by a reputable resource person.

What progress has been made so far?

  • Kick-off meeting with Directors, Unit Heads, and Representatives of Departments and Units
  • One on one interactive discussion with Directors and other key staff on their needs
  • Carried out IT Infrastructure needs (Hard and Software needs)
  • Framed the Website Structure
  • Registered a new website domain name
  • Carried out ICT training needs assessment etc.

The Team

The programme is to be managed by Mr. C.O. Owolawase who is to work with Mr. Fidelis Atuma (Senior Project Manager/Consultant). Other team members are: Mrs. Uju  Obuekwe (Senior IT Business Analyst) and NEPAD ICT Staff.
