CAPACITY BUILDING IS OUR PRIORITY – NEPAD NIGERIA

Capacity building will continue to be paramount in the programmes and activities of NEPAD Nigeria.
The National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer (NC/CEO), NEPAD Nigeria, Princess Gloria Akobundu who was represented by the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Abdulkarim Ibrahim said this today while declaring the training programme for the directorate cadre of the Agency open.
NC/CEO noted that the training is a continuation of NEPAD Nigeria’s empowerment of staff, particularly the directorate cadre so as to acquaint themselves with necessary knowledge towards achieving the change agenda of the present Administration.
She recalled that such training has been organized for the junior officers of the Agency, and enjoined the participants to utilize the opportunity in improving their skills for the development and rapid growth of the country.
Princess Akobundu said that the theme of the training is ‘Sensitization on Leadership and Policy strategies’ and urged the resource persons to ensure better presentation of the papers.
During the programme the Principal Consultant Charldit Consults Ltd, Abuja, Prince (Dr) Charles Onuoha, delivered a paper on ‘Reforms in the Civil Service, the Contemporary issues’ while the paper on ‘The Civil Service and Information Management, an overview of Freedom of Information Act 2011, was presented by Barrister Gowon Ichibor from the Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja.
The participants commended the Agency for organising such capacity building and assured their utilisation of the knowledge acquired in improving the socio- economy development and growth of the Nation.
